Together at home - You need to we home school

I am not going to try and tell you how to home teach (that's beyond me) however I can share some of the information I have found for the children to keep them occupied, to support home schooling and help break up the days.

David Attenborough teaches geography - Six 20-minute episodes will air every day, and include classes for different age groups. Lessons can be found on BBC Bitesize Daily. Here is the link.


PhonicsPlay - In response to the ongoing situation, we have decided to make PhonicsPlay free to use during this period. Children can use the site at home without their parents needing to subscribe. Click here.


Ruth Miskin - Watch Ruth and Rosie teach phonics lessons to help your child learn to read at home. Lessons are from Monday to Friday. Each one is ten minutes long and available for 24 hours. Click here.

Wide Open Schools - Set up for the US, is free. Its tools from Leading Education Organizations to help students learn through the COVID-19 Crisis. Here is the link.


BBC Bitesize - are offering free content from education to games. Its split by age range and subject. Here is the link

The Maths Factor - Carol Vorderman is offering free maths lessons for children on her website for children aged 4-12 years old. Here is the link to her page to register.


Top Marks - Topmarks gives children the opportunity to learn online, through safe, fun and engaging games and activities. They feature great, educationally sound online resources. Twinkl - To support teachers, parents, and students while school closures are in effect, Twinkl has gathered together lots of our teacher-favorite resources to support home learning. Covering all subject areas and elementary grades, you will be sure to find worksheets, games, activities, projects, and digital presentations to support your children. Maths with mum -Maths with Mum is a free primary Maths course for parents and children. Click here.


David Walliams - is doing story time for children, reading story books. Available on demand, so you don't need to have the children sat down and ready for 11am sharp. here is the link


PE Classes - as I mentioned on the exercise tab, The Body Coach is doing a daily PE class for children. My nephew has done this as have my friends nieces and nephews. I saw over 800k people joined on day 1. Live or demand - a great way to exercise the children and have some fun. Here is the link

Children Stories - The audiobook service, owned by Amazon, is offering free streams on selected children’s stories. The books will be available in six different languages, including English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese and Italian. Here is the link, the books are split by category from “littlest listeners to “teens” and there are also some ”literary classics” from Jane Eyre, Williams Shakesp and The Jungle Book.


Konnie Huq - is posting (for free) fun-but-educational videos at 10am each Mon, Wed and Fri. Reading, writing, STEM, art and crafts etc. Aimed at 6-12 y/o Blue Peter age group. Click here for her youtube page.

Wildlife with Steve Backshall - its seems to be weekly on Wednesday's at 9:30am GMT LIVE on facebook with Steve. Answering questions and talking all things nature. You can submit questions in advance. Here is is facebook page


Music with Mylene Klass - Mylene's Music Klass, available on demand on her You tube page - here is the link.


Prodigy Maths game - a game for children to play whilst asking math related questions. Years 1-6. When registering it asks which country you are from (UK, USA, Australia and many others). Here is the link and you can register for free.
